Drawing Tools for Acetate and Copper Plates

Drawing Tools Acetate Film and Copper Plates

During the August course in Spain we had a visit from my good friend Marnix Everaert, who is an excellent graphic designer and teacher of non-toxic intaglio at Academie vor bildende Kunst in Gent, Belgium. Marnix demonstrated some wonderful drawing tools, which can highly recommend:
Watercolour Pencil for drawing on acetate for photopolymer gravure – see:

Permanent marker for drawing and blocking out directly on the copper plates before or after application of aquatint – the red coloured are the best – you get them as pencils or crayons – see:

The best ultrafine permanent marker for fine lines that is completely resistant to UV-exposure and acid is called: “Faber-Castell”: PITT artist pen (Indian ink)
